Dowling Building Solutions Ltd is a family-run building company covering Bristol, Bath and the surrounding West Country. We were established in 1980 and are now in our forty-fifth year of trading — long enough to have renovated half of Knowle and converted a few lofts in Clifton along the way.
Led by Nick Dowling, our in-house team includes project managers, builders, carpenters, plasterers and labourers, with all gas and electrical work delivered by fully certified sub-contractors. We project-manage every job from first measure to final clean — and unlike most contractors, we're genuinely pet-friendly. Cats, dogs, parrots — they stay, the dust doesn't.

Most builders soundproof by stuffing rockwool between studs and hoping for the best. We use decoupled walls, mass-loaded vinyl, isolation clips and proper acoustic detailing — built for recording studios, podcast booths, music rooms and offices where the difference matters.
